All beaches in Ceredigion are designated under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 under which it is an offence - punishable by a fine of up to €1,000 - not to clean up after your dog.

DOG RESTRICTIONS DURING THE BATHING SEASON (1st May to 30th September annually)

There are only two public beaches on Ceredigion's coastline where pet dogs are completely banned during certain times of the year, those involve two beaches managed by the National Trust at Penbryn and Mwnt.

Where there are Prohibitions, the beaches are listed below, together with some which do not have restrictions. No prohibitions apply to guide dogs for the blind.
